At Hotel Tarapith (managed by Esoftking Infotech), we strive to provide a fair and transparent refund policy. This policy outlines the conditions under which refunds are processed for cancelled bookings.

Please read this policy carefully before making a booking, as it forms part of your booking agreement.

1. Cancellation and Refund Timeline

Cancellation: More than 48 Hours Before Check-in

  • Refund Amount: 90% of advance payment
  • Processing Fee: 10% of advance payment (non-refundable)
  • Processing Time: 5-7 business days
  • Eligibility: All bookings

Cancellation: 24-48 Hours Before Check-in

  • Refund Amount: 50% of advance payment
  • Cancellation Fee: 50% of advance payment (non-refundable)
  • Processing Time: 7-10 business days
  • Eligibility: Subject to hotel policy

Cancellation: Less than 24 Hours Before Check-in

  • Refund Amount: No refund
  • Reason: Hotel has already blocked the room for your booking
  • Alternative: May reschedule subject to availability (contact support)

No-Show (Guest Doesn't Arrive)

  • Refund Amount: No refund
  • Full Payment: Remaining 70% may still be charged by hotel
  • Recommendation: Always cancel in advance if plans change

2. Hotel-Specific Cancellation Policies

Some hotels may have different cancellation policies, especially during:

  • Peak Season: Stricter cancellation terms during festivals and holidays
  • Special Events: Different terms for major religious events in Tarapith
  • Long Stays: Extended bookings may have special cancellation terms
  • Promotional Rates: Discounted rates may be non-refundable

Important: Always check the specific cancellation policy displayed on the hotel's booking page and in your booking confirmation email.

3. How to Cancel Your Booking

  1. Log in to your Hotel Tarapith account
  2. Navigate to "My Bookings" section
  3. Find the booking you want to cancel
  4. Click on "Cancel Booking" button
  5. Confirm cancellation after reviewing refund amount
  6. You will receive a cancellation confirmation email

4. Refund Processing

Processing Timeline

  • Refunds are initiated within 24-48 hours of cancellation approval
  • Amount is credited to the original payment method used
  • Bank processing time: 5-10 business days (varies by bank)
  • UPI/Wallet refunds: 3-5 business days
  • You will receive email notification when refund is processed

Refund Method

Refunds are processed through Razorpay payment gateway:

  • Credit/Debit Card: Refunded to the same card
  • Net Banking: Credited to the bank account
  • UPI: Returned to UPI ID
  • Wallets: Credited back to the wallet

5. Non-Refundable Charges

The following charges are non-refundable under all circumstances:

  • Payment Gateway Charges: Transaction fees charged by Razorpay
  • Processing Fee: Platform processing and service charges (up to 10%)
  • Taxes: GST and other applicable taxes (if already remitted to government)

6. Booking Modifications

Instead of cancelling, you may modify your booking:

  • Date Changes: Subject to availability and may involve price difference
  • Room Type Changes: Pay or receive refund of price difference
  • Guest Name Changes: Usually allowed without charges
  • Contact Support: Call or email us for modification requests

Note: Modifications are subject to hotel policy and availability. Not all modifications may be possible.

7. Force Majeure and Exceptional Circumstances

In case of unforeseen events beyond our control:

  • Natural disasters (floods, earthquakes, etc.)
  • Pandemics or health emergencies
  • Government restrictions or lockdowns
  • Hotel closure due to emergency

We will work with you to provide alternative dates, transfer to another hotel, or process full refund on a case-by-case basis.

8. Refund Disputes

If you believe your refund was processed incorrectly:

  • Contact our customer support within 7 days of refund processing
  • Provide your booking ID and transaction details
  • We will investigate and respond within 3-5 business days
  • Disputes will be resolved as per our Terms & Conditions

9. Hotel-Initiated Cancellations

If a hotel cancels your confirmed booking:

  • Full Refund: 100% of amount paid (including advance)
  • No Deductions: No processing fees or cancellation charges
  • Alternative Accommodation: We will help find alternative hotels
  • Compensation: May receive a discount voucher for future bookings
